3PCS JOEL CHANDLER HARRIS PORTRAIT AND NEWSPAPERS Pen and ink drawing of Joel Chandler Harris and framed newspaper with the printed drawing on the front page. The large framed drawing was made by R. Gregg and was the main picture used when announcing Mr. Harris's death on July, 4th 1908, in the Atlanta Journal. Included is a complete original framed front page copy of that same newspaper and date. In addition, the October 14, 1877 edition of The Daily Constitution of Atlanta, Georgia with an article about Uncle Remus and Joel Chandler Harris is part of this collection.

Wilcox whose family was known as the father of US banknotes as they produced the paper for the colonial currency thus the desire to use them in this historical printing. Enclosed in the print is a very early printing of the Confederate Constitution thus being the first time printed and available in Mississippi.

Mr. Stephens, of Georgia, from the Select Committee of Fifteen, made the following Report. Pamphlet. 16 pp. The Lecompton Constitution was the second of four proposed constitutions for the state of Kansas. Named for the city of Lecompton where it was drafted, it was strongly pro-slavery. It never went into effect.

Stating Georgia is free by a declaration made by John Hancock that the new constitution frees all people from the hand of the British. Declared in Savannah and was followed by a firing of guns and a celebration of independence. The periodical has grey matting with a black frame. Framed with glass on both sides.
