Patinated surface marked on lower edge #278 Gorham Co. Founders O or Q 492. Mounted on a rectangular black marble base. Length of sculpture 13", length of base 15 1/2". Circa 1920s. Biography (courtesy of the National Park Service) - Anna Hyatt Huntington, a premier American sculptress, was born Anna Vaughn Hyatt in 1876, and studied with Mount Rushmore sculptor Gutzon Borglum. Her first one-person show was held when she was 24 years old. A prolific artist, she was especially noted for her powerfully classic animal and equestrian sculpture. Approximately 200 American museums contain her work, including the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

The condition of this bronze tiger sculpture is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this bronze sculpture is 7 3/4" x 15 1/2" x 5 1/2". The collective weight of this sculpture is 6lb 2oz.
