Two Scarce Early English Blue & White Platters English, circa 1810-1830. Two scarce blue and white transfer platters, the smaller one (unknown manufacturer), entitled on the back in blue underglaze "Part of the City of Moorshedabad pattern" with Parrot Border series the other attributed to Cambrian Pottery, Swansea, Wales in the "Chalees Satoon in the Fort of Allahabad on the River Jumna" pattern. Both apparently unmarked. Approximate height of smaller platter 2", width 17", depth 13". Approximate height of larger platter 1.5", width 18.75", depth 14.5". Provenance: Property from the Private Collection of Mrs. Nancy Rutledge Pogue, Blufton, South Carolina (wife of Mr. William Pogue, who served as an heir to the H. & S. This one features the waterfront with a double paddle steamboat and was designed after View of Detroit painted by William James Bennet (New York, 1787-1844). 20.5"l.
