Each panel in the screen inset with a two vertical ivory plaques carved in relief with flower and bird subjects highlighted in colored washes on the front and reversed with a fourteen-character couplet in xing shu calligraphy written in the style of the late Ming calligrapher Dong Qichang (1555-1636), the seals Dong Qichang yin, Cuibai zhai and yu tang qing wan picked out in black and red washes; the smaller repoussé metal plaques of auspicious emblems rendered in brilliantly hued famille rose enamels; the wood framing members displaying a black lacquer ground with polychrome and gilt scroll work and the various panels joined by black cloth hinges ( age cracks to ivory plaques, some metal plaques repaired).

The long top with scrolled terminals set above a waisted section with gilt lacquered panels set into three shaped openings, the curving apron elaborately scalloped and joined to cabriole legs also finished with gilt lacquer trim on a roiro ground and resting on a separately built low footed stand finished en suite; the back of the table inscribed in red lacquer with the names of donors and fitted at the waist with sliding doors fronting a storage area (extensive wear, repairs).
