Six French Porcelain Story Plates 19th Century The set of 8"D faience plates have a slightly lobed rim marked on the underside in cobalt blue with "J. Vieillard & Cie...Porceline D. Johnston...Medailles D'Or...Bordeaux" and impressed with "37B" (more distinctly on some than others). Each has a transfer printed plaid rim in a cobalt blue plaid pattern and a black pictorial transfer in the center with a caption in French.

Brass mounts including Minerva head handles marked ''Made in France''. The underside is marked ''Chateau de Blois''. Most likely had a lid. 16''h. 21''l. Possible small repair to rim gilt is scratched off in that area. A 3/4 inch scratch on interior of bowl. Overall good condition. Condition reports are available on all items.
