A collection showgirl costumes from The Cocoanut Grove at The Ambassador Hotel, late 1960s
Worn by the dancers who were called The Cocoanuts, group includes: four turquoise polyester pants-suit ensembles (bell-bottoms, halter tops, hot pants and shoes) and four red polyester flapper-style dresses (some with matching headdresses and shoes). Sadly, the world-famous Los Angeles nightclub and hotel no longer exist, but it would have been fun to see The Cocoanut Girls dancing around in these gaudy get-ups in the go-go sixties.
