  403. Vintage Wizard of Oz Set Beautiful set of three characters from the Wizard of Oz. Tin man, Scarecrow, and Lion, all in very good condition, never used. The characters were made to look like actors in the original MGM classic movie. Original tags from Presents the division of Hamilton gifts. This set is dated 1987. Each doll measures approx. 14" tall and comes with a Yellow Brick Road interlocking stand.  
  377. A Carved Wood Yoruba Figure of a Male A carved wood Yoruba figure of a male. Both are of carved wood with traces of pigment and represent a male and a female. An Ibeji doll represents a dead twin. The Yoruba have the highest rate of twin births in the world (45 out of 1000) with an infant mortality rate of 50 per sent. The Yoruba believe that the twins share a single soul so if one dies, a companion figure is carved and treated as if it were alive. They are honored with libations and prayers because it is believed that they influence the life of the family. Measures approx. 11"T.  
  EARLY JOINTED WOODCARVING OF A WOMAN, American, late 19th-early 20th century, appears to be pine. A wonderfully naive carving having jointed arms and legs (may originally have held a violin), chip-carved facial features and applied horsehair. In a mellow, natural patina; with a modern wire doll stand; 4.5" high (not including stand).

both hand sewn. Includes one with black satin face with embroidered details, black hair made from old black stockings, woven into pig tails with white silk ribbon ties, printed red bandanna and pearl earrings, black cloth arms with metallic silver paper bracelets, printed blouse and skirt and sewn-on cloth shoes, 10.5" tall, AND doll made from old black stocking with embroidered face, wearing printed cotton dress, red printed bandanna and homespun-style checked apron, 5.5" tall.

SIZE: 31" h. CONDITION: Body is redressed and repainted. This head has minuscule wig chips, otherwise very good. 
  BISQUE S.F.B.J. PARIS FRENCH DOLL. Doll has blue sleep eyes, open mouth with wood jointed body. An older red wig and remnants of an old costume. Back of head marked, "S.F.B.J. PARIS, 301, 7". SIZE: 18" h. CONDITION: Head soiled but fine. Body in poor condition with hand missing. Costume partly remnants.  
  14" PAPIER MACHE DOLL W/ DOMED TRUNK. Shoulder plate papier mache doll with black molded hair, cloth body, and wooden lower limbs with carved hands and boots. Accompanied by paper over wood trunk with insert including accessories including mandolins, books, fan, and shoes. CONDITION: Doll is as is and shows significant flaking and cracks to surface. Trunk is generally good, though leather straps are worn or broken.  
  21" HEUBACH KOPPELSDORF SHOULDER PLATE DOLL. Open mouth German doll with blue sleep eyes, kid body with bisque lower arms and newer brown curly wig and blue gingham dress. She is marked "275-470" on base of shoulder plate. CONDITION: Few pepper spots, otherwise generally good to very good.

  SCHOOL GIRL ATOP DESK AUTOMATON. The mate to the boy sitting atop desk with basket, this is the more unusual and harder to find version. This young lady is holding a peg wooden doll in her left hand and a tin sailor with movable legs in her right. When activated she nods her head from left to right, kicking her left leg out playfully while alternately raising her hands. CONDITION: Walnut base has some wormholes on side, blouse is older replacement.  
  FAMLEE DOLL WITH EXTRA HEADS. Manufactured by Berwick Doll Company, New York, NY and patented April 12, 1921. Extra heads include Indian girl and boy. CONDITION: Replacement clothing, some crazing to heads.  
  LOT OF THREE COMPOSITION TRUDY DOLLS. One has two faces and two of them have three faces. One doll has extensive crazing, the other two the composition is very good. All are re-dressed.  
  LOT OF 3 CHINA HEAD DOLLS. Includes 22" blonde, low brow with painted features, kid body, china lower legs. Also includes 8" and 11" Parian types with cloth bodies, blonde molded hair, painted features. CONDITION: Large doll has replaced clothing and newer body.   BOXED FAMLEE DOLL SET. A great set with eight interchangeable heads and a multitude of different clothes. Manufactured by Berwick Doll Company, New York, NY and pattened April 12, 1921. Heads range from Peru, Asian, Nurse, etc. inside lid pictures the eight different dolls and their attire. CONDITION: Overall condition is very fine, some heads do have crazing. Box in fair to good condition.

She is well costumed in a shocking pink pleated satin dress with lace center panel and collar, a replacement sheepskin wig over her original pate and wearing newer beige leather boots with hills. CONDITION: Overall very good, minor color rub on left cheek, fingertips worn, body in very good condition with original finish.

  SERIES A JULES STEINER BEBE. SIZE: 22-1/2" (57 cm), with head incised "SieA. 4.", also with red stamp "Stiener Bte S.G.D.G. Bourgoin", This lovely early doll has closed mouth, blue glass eyes with the Steiner patent which open and close with a lever mechanism. She has lovely mauve shading on her upper eyelids and cheeks and is on her original fully jointed body with straight wrists. A blue stamp on the torso, "LePetit Parisen BEBE STEINER". She is dressed in a 2 piece blue wool sailor costume with light blue and white collar and coordinated hat, wearing antique blonde mohair wig, old under garments and antique brown leather shoes. CONDITION: Excellent!  
  LOT OF 7 DOLLS, PRIMARILY CLOTH. Lot consists of: 13" (33 cm), black "Mammie" doll with composition head, 2 French cloth boudoir dolls, 26" (66 cm) each. Partially clothed with significant wear, 15-1/2" (39 cm) Russian Cossack man, 27" (68 cm) French cloth elderly lady in poor condition, along with an American painted silk face black doll, 21", (53 cm). "Babyland Rag" style lacking wig, wear to face.  
  DAMAGED SIMON & HALBIG DOLL. SIZE: 13-1/2" (34 cm). Oh, the poor thing. She had a great fall, but can be put back together again. A great project for the doll restorer. In earlier times, she had brown glass stationary eyes, closed mouth and solid dome head. Original fully jointed wood and composition body with straight wrists, which remains in excellent condition. She retains her original white cotton and lace dress with coordinated under garments, with beautiful pink leather shoes stamped on sole, "Keystone 1" Included is an antique purple velvet bonnet and later brown human hair wig.  
  ALTHOF BERGMANN GOODWIN DOLL PUSHING CART. Large composition wood and tin doll in very exquisite fashion pushing a three wheeled cart. This version of the toy is a pull toy that never had a wind up mechanism. When cart is pulled woman's feet simulate walking. SIZE: 11" h. CONDITION: Woman is all original. Cart is missing part of bottom of cart and seat. Otherwise the toy is all original and in very nice condition.  
  DOLL ET CIE LORRY. Large and impressive live steam driven flatbed truck with two tin headlamps, hand painted simulated wood paneling, white rubber tires with spare. Painted in creamsicle orange with black lithographed hood with red pinstripes Top of hood opens to reveal an elaborate steam mechanism with chain driven steerable wheels. Also has handbrake and original Doll decal on passenger door. SIZE: 19-1/2" l. x 7" w. x 8-1/4" h. CONDITION: Has original white rubber tires and headlamps, overall has a very nice appearance with minor chips. As is typical with live steam toys, there have been areas of touch-up to paint. Overall very good to near excellent.

Lot includes glass Santa nightlight on round base, papier-mâché reindeer candy container with felt dressed papier-mâché Santa, Victorian paper wall pocket with lithographed Santa image with small bisque doll inside, Victorian paper Christmas ornament trimmed with garland with image of Santa in blue cloak, reindeer candy container, vintage print of 1800s couple in one horse open sleigh. SIZE: Varies. CONDITION: Generally good.
